Bulletjie Rugby Website - CODE OF CONDUCT

Philosophy:
Fifteen man rugby is too complexed and dangerous for beginners and scares the parents and players. In normal Rugby not all players gets an opportunity to play but only the stronger players normally gets the opportunity. Bulletjie Rugby is easy to play and coach but still consists of many of the key elements of normal 15 man rugby. It is very important that the players are developed within the rules and the winning motive should not control the game.
Important Rules:
- No friendly games are allowed to take place before 21 April.
- No entry fees are allowed to be collected at league games.
- U/6 and U/7 players may under no circumstances play tackle rugby. U/8 Players may only play tackle rugby after the Bulletjie day.
- Rips must be as per prescribed spec.
- Rips are not to be fixed to the pants.
- White Rips are not allowed with White rugby shorts
- No private organization is allowed to make use f the Official Bulletjie logo to collect money.
- The Bulletjie logo belongs to the Blue Bulls Company.
- U/9 Boys or Girls are not allowed to play Bulletjie Rugby.
- In the case where an U/8 player plays in a higher age he will not be allowed to play Bulletjie Rugby again.
- League dates must first be dealt with before any other invitations for other games are accepted.
Aim:
To develop Rugby Skills, to draw players to the game but most of all, to develop Love for the game of Rugby. All participation is out of free will. Parents get the opportunity to get involved in Rugby and Rugby coaching.
Organization:
Bulletjie organizer must be a teacher; he will be in charge of Bulletjie Rugby at his school. The organizer must be present at events or a co-teacher. Parent organizer is co-operatively in charge of the project at the school. Setup a committee with portfolios. Assist in maintaining discipline and if needed get sponsors for the project. Get coaches.
Coaches:
Develop the potential of each player, encourage a positive rugby image, attend coaching courses. Be the link between the team and the parent and act as care taker of the team.
Parents Committee:
Each school participating in Bulletjie league must have a representing parents committee in conjunction with the School Organizer.

- All funds generated must be paid in at the School and should go towards school books. No funds to be paid into private bank accounts.
Team Composition:
No teams are allowed to be selected based on strength, no A, B, C or D teams. Give the Teams names rather.
Age Grouping:
- U/6 Nursery School kids, not younger than 5 years and not older than 6 years.
- U/7 – The year that they turn 7.
- U/8 – The year that they turn 8.
It is the responsibility of the (school) parent representative and coach to make sure that the kids are playing in the correct age group.
Referees:
Coaches qualify as referees once they have fully completed the exam. Only qualified “Bulletjie” referees my referee a game.
Clothing for Bulletjies:
Clothing must be unified. They can wear a T-shirt or school rugby jersey with rugby shorts. Shoulder pads and scrum caps are allowed.
First Aid:
The home school, hosting the rugby, is responsible for the First Aid. It must be clearly visible and fully equipped. No match is allowed to take place without First Aid.
Behaviour:
Should a person be guilty of bad behavior then the organizers are entitled to ask him/her to leave the premises.
No spectators are allowed on the playing field. No aggression from any parent will be tolerated as well as no alcohol during Bulletjie practices or games are allowed.
Coaches and parents must be seen as role models and must at all times watch their use of bad language as well as handling and treatment of the children.
In Closing:
Bulletjie Rugby must be enjoyed in full by all players. The winning factor should not play a role at all and should be avoided at all cost.
